Helpful Information
South Bend/Elkhart Regional Partnership - Arts and Culture Plan
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) will allocate approximately $65 million of the Redevelopment & Arts Initiative funding to support a first-of-its-kind, statewide Arts & Culture Initiative. In 2025, to augment the Redevelopment and Arts Initiative process, the IEDC provided funding for regions to participate in an arts and culture planning process. The Northern Indiana Regional Development Authority (RDA) retained Designing Local out of Columbus, Ohio, as the consulting team to assist with our regional plan’s development. The planning process included a regional steering committee, stakeholder engagement, and analysis of engagement results. The region’s plan provides contextual information about the region’s arts and culture assets, strategies for alignment, and future potential investments. Read the plan here.
Indiana Arts Commission - Artist Needs Assessment
Beginning in the Fall of 2023, the Indiana Arts Commission launched a statewide Artist Needs Assessment. The assessment consisted of two core components: (1) Eleven in-person facilitated listening sessions across Indiana with artists of a variety backgrounds and (2) a subsequent public survey based on listening session feedback disseminated statewide. The feedback from the listening sessions and survey will directly inform future services and programs for individual artists in Indiana. The full Needs Assessment report can be found here.
